Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Dispatch Rider role based in Accra. The Dispatch Rider will pick up and deliver groceries, meals, and other customer orders safely and on time across assigned routes. Daily tasks include confirming orders with the operations team, planning efficient delivery routes, maintaining clear communication with dispatch coordinators, and updating delivery status in the app or dispatch system. The role also involves handling customer interactions professionally at pickup and drop-off points, collecting payments or confirming digital payments where required, and ensuring packages are handled with care. The Dispatch Rider will be responsible for basic vehicle or motorbike checks, following traffic and safety regulations, and reporting any incidents, delays, or operational issues promptly.
Qualifications
- Strong road navigation skills in Accra, including the ability to follow GPS directions and adapt to changing routes.
- Proven safe riding or driving habits, with a valid rider’s or driver’s license appropriate for motorbike or delivery vehicle use.
- Basic smartphone literacy, including using delivery apps, maps, and communication tools.
- Good communication and customer service skills, with a polite and professional attitude toward customers and teammates.
- High level of reliability, time management, and attention to detail in handling and delivering orders.
- Physical ability to sit or ride for extended periods and lift light to moderately heavy packages as needed.
- Familiarity with basic vehicle or motorbike maintenance checks (fuel, tires, lights, and general condition).
- Prior experience in delivery, courier, or logistics roles is an advantage but not required.
- Fluency in English; proficiency in local languages spoken in Accra is a plus.
- Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and peak hours as needed to support operations.
