As our digital storefronts scale, their success depends entirely on high-quality product data, accurate categorization, and consistent visual presentation. We are looking for a detail-driven Catalog Specialist to own this function.
Role Overview
We are seeking a Catalog Specialist to lead the buildout and ongoing management of product catalogs across Nova Niche's ecommerce brands. You will be responsible for cataloging physical inventory, enriching product data, generating AI-powered product imagery and copy, and maintaining the highest standards of data integrity across our platforms. Quality is our top priority.
Compensation: GHS 2,000 – 3000/month, commensurate with experience
Key Responsibilities
Product Data Enrichment
Catalog physical inventory at our warehouse locations—recording product attributes, measurements, categories, and specifications
Enter product data into our inventory and ecommerce systems, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and adherence to our naming and SKU conventions
Accurately match, categorize, and tag products based on established taxonomy and project guidelines
Create new product entries when needed, ensuring completeness of all required fields before publishing
Maintain and update existing product listings as inventory changes
Content Production
Capture clear reference photographs of products for use in AI image generation
Use AI image generation tools (Gemini, Imagen, or similar) to produce product photography at scale, following established brand guidelines
Use AI text tools (Claude, GPT, or similar) to generate product descriptions following our brand voice templates
Evaluate and match product images to the correct listings, ensuring visual accuracy and consistency across all storefronts
Quality Assurance
Quality-check all data, images, and copy before publishing to ensure they strictly meet standards for accuracy, clarity, and relevance
Review and audit existing product content to identify and resolve data inconsistencies, duplicates, and gaps across our systems
Proactively identify, document, and flag edge cases, anomalies, or data errors within our product catalog
Provide structured feedback and suggestions to improve our overall tagging logic, taxonomy, and catalog workflows
Process & Documentation
Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and style guides for catalog management, including naming conventions, image standards, and description formats
Collaborate with marketing and operations teams to ensure product data supports campaigns and promotions
Train and support additional team members as the catalog function grows
Required Skills & Qualifications
HND or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Marketing, Library & Information Science, Statistics, or a related field. Candidates from other disciplines with relevant practical experience will also be considered
1–2 years of experience in data entry, inventory management, ecommerce operations, product tagging, content moderation, or a similar detail-oriented role (internships and freelance work count)
Strong proficiency with spreadsheets (Google Sheets or Excel)
Sharp attention to detail and a quality-first mindset
Demonstrable speed and accuracy with data entry and product categorization
Comfort working with digital content, specifically evaluating and matching product images
Ability to independently follow detailed guidelines and apply nuanced judgment to ambiguous product data
Good written English—strong enough to review and edit AI-generated product descriptions
Proactive communication skills
Ability to work on-site and visit warehouse locations in the Accra area
Nice to Have (Not Required)
Experience with Shopify (product creation, collections, variant management—admin-level)
Experience with Odoo or similar ERP/POS systems
Experience with any other ecommerce or inventory platform (WooCommerce, Jumia Seller Center, Loyverse, Zoho Inventory, or similar)
Familiarity with AI tools for image generation or text generation
Basic photography or smartphone product photography skills
Basic image editing (Canva, Photoshop, GIMP, or similar)
Experience with Airtable, Notion, or similar structured data tools
Background in Quality Assurance (QA), data labeling, or content moderation
