Job Summary
We are a vertically integrated FMCG business in an accelerated growth phase with operations spanning upstream work with farmers to manufacturing and distribution. The core purpose of this role is to build enduring B2B distribution relationship with the informal open market. The successful candidate will report to the commercial director.

Job Description/Requirements
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Creating and executing sales plans for both the informal and formal market:
- Work with corporate to develop sales targets
- Develop sales plan that maps out comprehensive route to achieving sales targets
- Assign territories and quotas to sales team and track their progress towards achieving them
- Prepares sales budget; monitors and approves expenses
Recruiting, training, and motivating sales teams:
- Create a talent pipeline to meet current targets and to support growth
- Provide ongoing training and support for sales teams
- Work with corporate to design and implement a compensation package that helps in meeting and achieving targets
- Conduct performance evaluations that are timely and constructive
- Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy
Managing key accounts:
- Retain top customers and nurture those key relationships
- Expand the relationships with existing customers by continuously proposing solutions that meet their objectives
- Resolve any issues and problems faced by customers and deal with complaints to maintain trust
- Acquire a thorough understanding of key customer needs and requirements
- Play an integral part in generating new sales that will turn into long-lasting relationships
- Prepare regular reports of progress and forecasts to internal and external stakeholders using key account metrics
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Minimum bachelors degree
- Sales experience, including direct selling, rising to the level of manage
- FMCG experience is required
- Building distribution from the ground-up will be a plus
- At least 5 years of experience with informal open markets
- Experience with microfinance-type credit with the informal market with proven collection success
- Credit monitoring and control systems
- Experience with managing people
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in verbal and written English
