Job Description/Requirements
Key Responsibilities
Upholstery & Assembly – 60%
- Follow work orders and technical drawings to determine material requirements and specifications for each piece of furniture.
- Prepare and apply various types of foam, wadding, and padding to furniture frames using spray adhesives and fasteners to achieve the correct shape and comfort level.
- Measure, cut, and attach fabrics, leather, and other upholstery materials to the prepared frames using staple guns, tack hammers, and other professional upholstery tools.
- Ensure all fabrics are stretched smoothly and evenly, free of wrinkles, puckers, and inconsistencies.
- Attach finishing elements such as buttons, zippers, trims, and legs to complete the upholstered product according to design specifications.
Quality Assurance & Finishing – 20%
- Inspect the quality of work at each stage of the upholstery process, from initial padding to the final fabric application.
- Ensure all seams are straight, patterns are aligned correctly, and the overall finish is professional and of high quality.
- Identify and correct any defects or flaws in the upholstered product before it moves to the next stage of production.
- Work closely with the Quality Control team to uphold and improve product standards.
Tool Maintenance & Troubleshooting – 10%
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of upholstery tools and equipment, including pneumatic staple guns and fabric cutters, to ensure they remain in good working condition.
- Identify and report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to the supervisor promptly.
- Assist in the calibration and setup of equipment as required.
Safety & Compliance – 10%
- Adhere strictly to all factory safety regulations and guidelines, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Follow all safety protocols related to tool handling, chemical adhesives, and fire prevention within the upholstery section.
- Report any unsafe working conditions or practices to the supervisor immediately.
- Participate in all safety briefings and training sessions as required.
Perform additional duties as assigned to support the team’s objectives and overall success.
