Tool Store Clerk

JOB PURPOSE

Assist in the day-to-day tooling booking in and out

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Assist and supplies tools required for the workshop and field repairs as and when requested.
• Assist and enters all booked out tools into the Tool management System (When applicable) and requisitions the goods out according to procedures set.
• Assist and re-enters the goods back into the store using the Tool Management system (when applicable) and places goods back into their locations.
• Advises supervisors/managers on outstanding tooling returns using the Tool management system (when applicable) or otherwise keeps a appropriate register.
• Ensure that all tools are properly kept, their location and part numbers easily identified.
• He reports immediately any losses or damages that have occurred on tools using the tool damage form.
• Engraves all Tooling with the necessary location or Tool Box No.
• He is responsible to receive new tools to record & locate them into the Tool Management System (When applicable) and keep them in appropriate locations.
• Assist in the annual Tool store & Tool Box audits.
• Responsible for the housekeeping of the Tool store and equipment.
• To maintain adequate supplies like batteries, bulbs, etc. required for the proper operation of the various tools.

EDUCATION

• Minimum MET/MVT/EET - Intermediate

EXPERIENCE

• Minimum of one (1) year post qualification experience in basic inventory control storekeeping.

REQUIREMENTS

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent technical skills and good time management skills
• Good IT skills
• Must be able to work in a noisy and dusty environment
• Should be able to work longer hours, including weekends and holidays
