Role Summary
As the Senior Finance Officer, you will play a critical role in overseeing the company's financial health and operations. You will be responsible for financial planning, budgeting, reporting, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with a strong background in the insurance or financial services sector, capable of making data-driven decisions to support the company’s growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily financial operations, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, payroll, and bank reconciliations.
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
- Lead the preparation of annual budgets, financial forecasts, and variance analysis to guide strategic planning.
- Ensure all financial practices comply with statutory regulations, tax laws, and National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) guidelines.
- Monitor cash flow, optimize working capital, and manage treasury functions to ensure liquidity.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors to ensure smooth and successful annual audits.
- Mentor and manage the finance team to ensure high performance, accuracy, and continuous professional development.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, ICAG, CPA, or equivalent).
- Minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in finance or accounting, preferably within the health insurance or broader financial services industry.
- In-depth knowledge of financial regulations, accounting principles, and statutory compliance.
- Proficiency in modern accounting software and ERP systems.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
