Senior Finance Officer

Role Summary

As the Senior Finance Officer, you will play a critical role in overseeing the company's financial health and operations. You will be responsible for financial planning, budgeting, reporting, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with a strong background in the insurance or financial services sector, capable of making data-driven decisions to support the company’s growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily financial operations, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, payroll, and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
• Lead the preparation of annual budgets, financial forecasts, and variance analysis to guide strategic planning.
• Ensure all financial practices comply with statutory regulations, tax laws, and National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) guidelines.
• Monitor cash flow, optimize working capital, and manage treasury functions to ensure liquidity.
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors to ensure smooth and successful annual audits.
• Mentor and manage the finance team to ensure high performance, accuracy, and continuous professional development.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
• Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, ICAG, CPA, or equivalent).
• Minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in finance or accounting, preferably within the health insurance or broader financial services industry.
• In-depth knowledge of financial regulations, accounting principles, and statutory compliance.
• Proficiency in modern accounting software and ERP systems.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
