Key Responsibilities:
Dispensing & Patient Care:
- Accurately dispense medications to patients according to prescriptions.
- Counsel patients on proper medication use, dosages, and potential side effects.
- Ensure all prescriptions comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
Pharmaceutical Inventory Management:
- Maintain stock levels of medicines and medical supplies.
- Conduct regular stock checks and audits to prevent shortages or overstocking.
- Ensure proper storage of medications according to safety guidelines.
Regulatory Compliance & Documentation:
- Adhere to pharmacy laws, policies, and ethical standards.
- Maintain accurate records of prescriptions, stock movements, and controlled substances.
- Assist in reporting adverse drug reactions and medication errors.
Support to Healthcare Team:
- Work closely with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Provide drug-related advice to medical staff when needed.
- Participate in training and continuous professional development.
Customer Service & Communication:
- Address patient inquiries regarding medications and health products.
- Provide excellent customer service to enhance patient satisfaction.
- Handle complaints and escalate complex cases when necessary.
General Administrative Duties:
- Assist with pharmacy billing and insurance claims where applicable.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Keep up to date with new drug developments and guidelines.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Degree in Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related field.
- Experience in hospital or retail pharmacy is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceuticals and medical regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic computer literacy (e.g., pharmacy management software).
