Job Description:
Smart Transit LLC is seeking a proactive and resourceful Operations Officer to join our team. The Operations Officer will primarily be responsible for coordinating and supervising miscellaneous tasks of the SmartTransyt service and platform, ensuring smooth implementation of projects, and maintaining operational efficiency. This role requires frequent travel and hands-on involvement in diverse operational activities, including logistics, licensing, and stakeholder engagement.
Responsibilities:
Field Operations Management:
- Coordinate and oversee field operations, including logistics, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Manage the clearance of items from ports, ensuring compliance with customs regulations and timely delivery to designated locations.
- Liaise with transport providers, customs officials, and other stakeholders to facilitate the smooth movement of goods and materials.
- Represent the organization in business meetings and conferences, fostering positive relationships with regional stakeholders and partners.
Licensing and Documentation:
- Obtain and maintain necessary licensing documents and permits for project operations and vehicles, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Manage documentation related to imports, exports, and other legal requirements, maintaining accurate records and facilitating timely submissions.
Vendor and Supplier Management:
- Source and engage vendors and suppliers for goods and services required for field operations, negotiating contracts and monitoring performance.
- Coordinate with mechanics and other service providers to ensure the maintenance and repair of equipment and vehicles as needed.
Project Support:
- Assist in the planning and execution of projects, providing logistical support and resolving operational challenges as they arise.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to assess project progress, identify areas for improvement, and ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Analyze data and feedback to identify trends and opportunities for operational enhancement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience in operations management, logistics, or a relevant field-based role.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.
- Problem-solving mindset with the capacity to navigate complex challenges and adapt to changing environments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and other relevant software applications.
- Willingness to travel and work flexible hours as required.
- Possess a valid driver’s license
- 3-4 years experience in similar roles
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in supply chain management, procurement, or customs clearance.
- Familiarity with licensing and regulatory requirements in relevant industries.
- Certification in project management, logistics, or related fields.
- Valid driver's license
