The Swiss-Ghanaian Chamber of Commerce is seeking to recruit an Operations Manager who is responsible for maintaining day to day operations including finance, accounting, administrative and communication duties for the Swiss-Ghanaian Chamber of Commerce.
The responsibilities of the Operations Manager are multiple and include:
Service Delivery

  • Reply to requests for specific information, such as statistical data, labor legislation etc. and provide advisory services
  • Reply to requests for contacts, such as lawyers, auditors, certified translators, etc.
  • Prepare and disseminate information on investment and trade opportunities in Ghana and Switzerland
  • Prepare events related to special visits, meetings, press conferences, etc.
  • Prepare the ground for business delegations from Switzerland
  • Organize business seminars, forums for exchange and other thematic and networking events for the Chamber
  • Support in the Chamber’s broad member database and the industries they represent, to find the best partner to leverage for match making

Communication

  • Ensure timely dissemination of information to members, including through up-to-date information on the Chamber’s web-site and in an electronic Newsletter
  • Proactively identify communication opportunities for the Chamber
  • Establish and maintain working relations with relevant Ghanaian as well as Swiss institutions such as GIPC, GEPA, GSB, Embassy of Switzerland in Ghana, SwissCham Africa, rainbow limited, other chambers and further relevant Swiss and Ghanaian business institutions

Administration

  • Ensure simple book keeping
  • Maintain financial files and records and preparation of the budget
  • Prepare and present financial reports to the advisory board, executive and members
  • Manage the filing, storage and security of documents and regularly update the register of members
  • Report directly to the CEO of the Chamber

Perform other duties that may be assigned by the CEO
Qualification Required & Experience

  • First Degree (Bachelor) from a recognized University
  • At least two years of experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English required. Working knowledge in German or French is desirable.
  • Strong organizational and networking abilities.
  • Good research, written and oral communication as well as presentation skills.
  • Outgoing.
  • Quick learner.
  • Proven ability to work independently in a multicultural environment to deliver high quality work within deadlines.
  • Meticulous in financial matters.
  • Strong administrative skills.
