1. Company Description:

Twellium Industrial Company Limited entered the Ghanaian beverage market in 2013, launching products such as Rush Energy Drink and Verna Mineral Water. Today, the company produces over 60 beverage brands and flavors, including malt drinks and carbonated soft drinks, all proudly made in Ghana.


Twellium also produces McBerry biscuits and cakes, maintaining strict health, safety, and quality standards across all operations. The company is widely recognized for its innovation, reliability, and commitment to excellence.


2. Job Purpose:

The Medical Doctor will be responsible for providing professional medical care to employees, ensuring timely diagnosis and treatment of illnesses and injuries, promoting workplace health and wellness, and supporting the organization in maintaining a safe and healthy working environment.

The position will play a key role in occupational health, preventive healthcare, medical emergencies, employee health assessments, and coordination with external hospitals and specialist healthcare providers when required.


3. Duties and Responsibilities:

A.
Clinical Services


Conduct medical consultations, examinations, diagnosis, and treatment for employees.


Assess and manage common illnesses, occupational injuries, and medical emergencies.


Provide appropriate prescriptions and treatment plans in accordance with approved medical standards.


Monitor patients' progress and arrange follow-up consultations where required.


Identify cases requiring specialist consultation or hospital referral and coordinate appropriate referrals.


Maintain accurate and confidential medical records for all patients.


Ensure appropriate medical follow-up for employees with chronic or recurring conditions.


B.
Occupational Health


Provide medical support for workplace-related injuries and illnesses.


Participate in employee medical assessments, including pre-employment and periodic medical examinations.


Assess employees' fitness for work and provide appropriate recommendations where required.


Advise management on medical restrictions, workplace health concerns, and return-to-work arrangements.


Monitor occupational health trends and identify areas requiring preventive intervention.


Work closely with the HSE team to support workplace health and safety initiatives.


C. Emergency Medical Care


Provide immediate medical assessment and first-line treatment during medical emergencies.


Establish appropriate emergency response and referral procedures for serious cases.


Coordinate with ambulance services and external healthcare facilities when hospitalization is required.


Ensure the clinic is adequately prepared to manage workplace medical emergencies.


D. Clinic Management


Ensure the clinic operates in accordance with applicable Ghanaian healthcare requirements and professional standards.


Ensure appropriate availability, storage, and control of medicines and medical supplies.


Monitor medical equipment and report maintenance or replacement requirements.


Establish appropriate procedures for infection prevention and control.


Maintain appropriate medical documentation, statistics, and clinic reports.


Ensure strict confidentiality of employee medical information.


E. Reporting & Coordination


Prepare periodic medical and occupational health reports for management, while maintaining patient confidentiality.


Provide management with relevant health trends and recommendations without disclosing confidential personal medical information.


Coordinate with HR, HSE, and management on occupational health matters.


Liaise with hospitals, laboratories, pharmacies, insurance/medical service providers, and other healthcare partners as required.


4. Required Skills & Qualifications:


Medical Degree (MBChB or equivalent) from a recognized medical school.


Must be fully registered and licensed to practice medicine in Ghana.


Valid professional registration with the Medical and Dental Council, Ghana.


Valid professional license and authorization to practice.


Additional training or certification in Occupational Health, Emergency Medicine, Public Health, or related fields will be an advantage.


5. Additional Details:

The Medical Doctor must maintain strict confidentiality regarding all employee medical information and comply with applicable professional, ethical, and legal requirements governing medical practice in Ghana.

The doctor is expected to demonstrate integrity, professionalism, respect, compassion, and sound medical judgment at all times.


Working Conditions

The Medical Doctor will be based at the company's clinic in Kumasi and will provide medical services to employees in an industrial/manufacturing environment.

The role may require availability to respond to workplace medical emergencies and coordinate urgent referrals when necessary.
