Role Description The Mechanical Engineer will work on-site in Tema in a full-time capacity, contributing to the design, development, and maintenance of mechanical systems and equipment for client projects. Day-to-day responsibilities include creating and reviewing mechanical designs, preparing technical drawings and models, and performing engineering calculations to ensure safety, reliability, and efficiency. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, supporting project planning and execution, and participating in research and development activities to improve existing machinery and processes. The Mechanical Engineer will also conduct inspections, troubleshoot mechanical issues, and provide technical documentation and reports to support decision-making and compliance with relevant standards. This position requires close coordination with project managers, vendors, and other stakeholders to deliver projects on time and within scope.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Mechanical Engineering knowledge, including fundamentals of mechanics, thermodynamics, and materials.
- Candidates should possess skills in Machine Design and Research and Development (R&D) to create, test, and optimize mechanical components and systems.
- Candidates should possess proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools for drafting, modeling, and revising mechanical drawings.
- Candidates should possess Project Management skills to plan, schedule, coordinate resources, and monitor progress on engineering projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field; professional certification or registration is an advantage.
- Experience in industrial, manufacturing, or construction environments, with familiarity in relevant standards and safety regulations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and quality in technical work.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate on-site with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
- Ability to use engineering software and tools, and to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and manuals.
