Maintenance Engineer
Job summary
The Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving production equipment and utility systems to minimize downtime and maximize operational efficiency. The successful candidate will work closely with Production, QA, and Operations teams to ensure equipment is always available, safe, and operating.

Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production machinery and utilities.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and control system faults.
- Carry out repairs on food processing and packaging equipment.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules.
- Monitor equipment performance and recommend improvements to increase reliability and efficiency.
- Install, commission, and test new equipment when required.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, spare parts inventory, and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, GMP, HACCP, and occupational health and safety requirements.
- Coordinate with external service providers for specialized repairs when necessary.
- Identify root causes of equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing downtime and maintenance costs.
- Train machine operators on proper equipment use and basic autonomous maintenance practices.
- Participate in emergency breakdown response whenever required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in:
- Mechanical Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Electromechanical Engineering
- Mechatronics Engineering
- Industrial Engineering
- Or another closely related engineering discipline.
- Professional certification in maintenance or engineering is an added advantage.
