Requirements:
1. Hardware Installation & Peripheral Troubleshooting
Ability to physically unbox, assemble, mount, and configure receipt printers, barcode scanners, and backup power supplies (UPS). They must know how to install drivers, map COM ports, and resolve communication errors between devices.
2. System Configuration & Basic Networking
Proficiency with operating systems (Windows, Android, or Mac/iOS) to install an application and apply security lockdowns to prevent tampering. They also need foundational networking skills to connect the hardwares to a servers via Wi-Fi, Ethernet, or mobile hotspots (including setting static IP addresses).
3. Strict Asset Tracking & Compliance Logging
Because this is a sensitive project, meticulous attention to detail is non-negotiable. Engineers must flawlessly document and map hardware serial numbers, MAC addresses, store IDs, and secure fiscal module IDs to ensure the tracking database is perfectly accurate.
4. End-User Training & Customer De-escalation
Strong interpersonal skills are required to act as a professional representative. They must be able to handle pushback from potentially resistant store customers/client, minimise operational disruption, and train clients/customers on how to use the system in simple, non-technical language.
