Role Purpose
Responsible for the end-to-end design, architecture, capacity planning, and optimization of the IP/MPLS backbone, IP transport and access networks, Gi Firewall, DPI, Security Gateway, BRAS, international transmission, and IP based services. The role ensures that all network designs and implementations adhere to industry standards and best practices while maintaining a reliable, secure, and scalable infrastructure. It also guarantees seamless integration across the IP, transport, and service layers to support the growth and performance objectives of both enterprise and mobile networks.
Key Responsibilities
•Escalation point for difficulties in fault resolution and problem solving by operational staff.
•Assures the current and future integrity of the CPN by:
Defining and implementing solutions that aligns with best practice and future strategy.
Ensuring internal and external suppliers, partners and customers are aware of best practice and future strategy and adhere to it.
Work Review (e.g. Solutions Delivery and Operations teams) to ensure they are in line with best practice and future strategy.
•Recommends and drives improvement actions in line with Telecel's continuous improvement techniques.
•Design and implement scalable IP/MPLS, BGP, OSPF, and IS-IS architectures supporting mobile core, enterprise, and broadband services.
•Conduct network capacity forecasting and expansion planning across core routers, aggregation, and edge layers.
•Plan and document IP addressing schemes, routing policies, and QoS configurations.
•Ensure designs adhere to network security, reliability, and redundancy standards.
•Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
Must have Technical / Professional Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field.
•5+ years of experience in IP Network Planning, Design, or Operations in a telecom or ISP environment.
•Strong knowledge of routing/switching technologies (BGP, OSPF, MPLS, QoS, Multicast, IPv6).
•Hands-on experience with routers/switches from vendors such as Huawei, Nokia, Cisco, or Juniper.
•Understanding of IP service provisioning platforms (BRAS, CGNAT, DHCP, DNS, AAA).
•Familiarity with SDN/NFV, automation (Python/Ansible), and cloud networking is an advantage.
