IELTS TEACHER/English Test Trainer
Job summary
An experienced and dedicated IELTS Teacher/English Test Trainer responsible for preparing students to achieve their desired band scores in the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) examination. Skilled in teaching all four IELTS modules—Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking—using effective instructional strategies, structured lesson plans, and exam-focused practice materials. Proficient in assessing students’ language proficiency, identifying areas for improvement, providing constructive feedback, and developing personalized learning strategies to enhance English language skills and examination performance. Committed to creating an engaging learning environment, monitoring student progress, and equipping learners with the confidence, techniques, and language proficiency required to succeed in IELTS and other English proficiency examinations.
Job descriptions & requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (English, Education, Linguistics or related)
- CEFR C2 / band 8.0–9.0 demonstrable in IELTS itself, as well as the other tests
- (Duolingo/Toefl/SELTS/Pearson/Kelt etd)
- Familiarity with the public band descriptors;
- Familiarity to other languages (German or French)
Duties:
- Diagnose each candidate's starting level and target band, then build an individual gap plan.
- Prepare candidates across Listening, Reading, Writing (Task 1 & Task 2) and Speaking parts 1–3.
- Create lesson plans, skill worksheets and band-graded model answers.
- Run full supervised mock exams under timing conditions and mark Writing to the official band descriptors (Task Achievement/Response, Coherence & Cohesion, Lexical Resource,
Grammatical Range & Accuracy).
- Deliver structured mock Speaking interviews as a role-play examiner, with score feedback.
- Teach exam mechanics: timing strategy, question types (T/F/NG, matching headings, sentence completion), paraphrase and synonym recognition.
- Run or support enrolment and registration for the test itself; brief candidates on test-day procedure, ID requirements and Test Report Form logistics.

- 1–3 years of teaching experience

Salary: GHS1500 to GHS2500
