Housekeeping Manager
Location: Airport Residential Area, Accra
Role Overview
The Housekeeping Manager is responsible for overseeing all housekeeping operations to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, and hygiene across residential units and common areas. This role combines operational leadership, staff supervision, quality control, and coordination with other departments to deliver a consistently premium living environment.
Key Responsibilities
Housekeeping Operations
•
Plan, organize, and supervise all housekeeping activities across apartments, common areas, and back-of-house spaces
•
Ensure all areas meet defined cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation standards at all times
•
Develop and implement daily, weekly, and periodic cleaning schedules
Team Leadership & Supervision
•
Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise housekeeping staff
•
Assign duties, monitor productivity, and enforce service standards
•
Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching
Quality Control & Inspections
•
Carry out routine inspections of apartments and common areas
•
Identify deficiencies and ensure corrective actions are implemented promptly
•
Maintain readiness for move-ins, inspections, and VIP or executive visits
Inventory & Cost Control
•
Manage housekeeping supplies, equipment, and linen inventory
•
Monitor usage, minimize waste, and control departmental costs
•
Coordinate procurement and ensure proper storage and handling of materials
Coordination & Communication
•
Work closely with front desk, duty supervisors, facility management, and maintenance teams
•
Ensure timely room readiness, turnover, and special cleaning requests
•
Communicate operational issues and improvement areas to management
Health, Safety & Compliance
•
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations
•
Train staff on safe handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment
•
Enforce company policies, procedures, and conduct standards
Requirements & Qualifications
•
Proven experience as a Housekeeping Manager or senior housekeeping supervisor
•
Strong leadership, organizational, and people-management skills
•
High attention to detail and quality standards
•
Ability to manage teams in a fast-paced, service-driven environment
•
Good communication skills in English
•
Basic computer skills for reporting, scheduling, and inventory tracking
Preferred Attributes
•
Experience in luxury residences, serviced apartments, or hotels
•
Knowledge of housekeeping systems, SOPs, and quality benchmarks
•
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends if required
