The Head of Quantity Surveying / Principal Quantity Surveyor leads the quantity surveying team and manages the overall cost of construction projects. The role ensures proper budgeting, cost control, contract management, and financial reporting to keep projects within budget and on schedule. The person in this role also supervises team members, supports project planning, and works closely with clients, contractors, and management to ensure projects are completed successfully and cost-effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the measurement and preparation of Bills of Quantities (BOQs) for new and ongoing projects.
  • Oversee cost planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting across multiple developments.
  • Manage contract administration, including preparation of interim payment certificates and final accounts.
  • Conduct periodic measurement and valuation of completed and ongoing works to ensure cost accuracy.
  • Allocate upcoming works to contractors in collaboration with the Construction Manager.
  • Provide commercial support to site teams, ensuring alignment between cost control and construction progress.
  • Update BOQs and prepare detailed cost and financial reports for management review.
  • Lead, mentor, and motivate the QS team, including performance management, skills development, and training.
  • Implement and maintain robust commercial processes, controls, and standards across projects.


Candidate Profile

  •  10yrs experience in a senior Quantity Surveying or commercial leadership role within the construction industry.
  • Strong expertise in cost management, contract administration, and project commercial control.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, influence stakeholders, and drive performance.
  • Experience working on large-scale or multi-project developments is highly desirable.
  • International exposure or experience working in emerging markets will be an advantage.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and negotiation skills.
