To support the firm in managing all costs relating to construction projects, from initial calculations to final accounts. The candidate will ensure projects remain within budget, maximize value for money, and deliver high-quality results while adhering to contractual obligations and company procedures.

Job descriptions & requirements

Key Responsibilities

Cost Estimation & Planning

  • Assist with the preparation of cost estimates, budget breakdowns, and bills of quantities (BOQs) from architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.

Measurement & Valuation

  • Conduct on-site measurements and prepare interim valuations to assess work completed by contractors, ensuring accurate, timely submissions.

Subcontractor Management

  • Support the procurement process, including issuing inquiries, performing tender comparisons, negotiating, and preparing subcontract agreements.

Variations & Claims

  • Identify, analyze, and value contract variations and assist in preparing or evaluating subcontractor claims.

Cost Monitoring & Reporting

  • Maintain up-to-date cost tracking (actuals vs. budget) and assist in producing monthly Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR) reports.

Site Coordination

  • Liaise with site managers, engineers, and clients to monitor progress and resolve commercial queries.

Final Accounts

  • Assist in the reconciliation and finalization of project accounts. 

Additional Duties

  • Other duties assigned from time to time by the principal or other designated Representative.



Required Skills & Competencies

Technical Knowledge

  • Good understanding of construction materials, methods, and measurement techniques (e.g.SMM, CESSM, etc).

Software Proficiency

  • Strong proficiency in MS Excel; experience with other cost management software (e.g., CostX, Candy, or similar) and AutoCAD is highly desirable.

Analytical Skills

  • Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities with high attention to detail.

Communication

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills to liaise with stakeholders.

Organization

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines under pressure. 


Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Approximately 2-3 years of hands-on experience in a Quantity Surveying role (within a contractor or consultancy environment).
  • Actively working towards professional accreditation (e.g., GhIS ) is a plus.
  • Ability to drive a motor vehicle and possession of a valid driving license.

Note: Candidate should preferably reside in Tema, Labadi, Teshie and Spintex general vicinity.
