Role Description The French and Spanish Teacher role is a full-time, on-site position based in Accra. The teacher will plan and deliver engaging French and Spanish lessons for learners at different proficiency levels, using diverse teaching methods and resources. Daily responsibilities include preparing lesson plans, developing and updating curricula, assessing learner progress through tests and assignments, and providing constructive feedback. The teacher will offer individual or small-group tutoring as needed, maintain classroom discipline, and create a supportive learning environment. Collaboration with other team members to align language programs with the organization’s broader educational and social impact goals will be part of the role.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong skills in French and Spanish teaching, with demonstrated experience in classroom-based teaching.
- Candidates should possess skills in lesson planning and curriculum development to design structured, effective language programs.
- Candidates should possess tutoring and general teaching skills to support learners with diverse needs and learning styles.
- Fluency or advanced proficiency in both French and Spanish, with clear, professional communication skills.
- Relevant teaching certification or degree in Education, Languages, Linguistics, or a related field.
- Experience teaching in a school or community-based setting, preferably with mixed-ability groups.
- Strong classroom management, organizational, and time-management abilities.
- Commitment to inclusive, non-discriminatory teaching practices and sensitivity to learners from diverse backgrounds.
- Interest in social impact, women’s empowerment, and community development initiatives is an advantage.
