Job Summary

We are looking for an independent and result-oriented financial reporting accountant to sit with the Japan team with a focus on accounting, Japan specific treasury, assist with new business financial modeling and cash management. And you, lucky individual, will be responsible for pulling together the accounts.

Job Description/Requirements

What you’ll be doing:

  • Assisting in management accounting, financial reporting and providing commercial and operational management information to support the Japan team
  • Supporting the day-to-day running of Finance and providing insights to Japan business’s financial performance, risks and financial management
  • Assisting in month-end closing and month-end reconciliation
  • Contributing to process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the monthly, quarterly and annual reporting process
  • Assisting in the tax and regulatory reporting requirements of local entities
  • Contributing to building a scalable and efficient accounting and finance function
  • Providing timely and effective support during the annual audit process and regulatory inquiries/inspections
  • Supporting Treasury operations to Japan and Global Finance
  • Assisting in management of accounts payable/accounts receivable operations and management of accounts payable vendor
  • Assisting in relationship with tax advisor and inquiries form tax advisor


What you'll need:

  • University degree in finance, economics or other relevant degrees
  • 2+ years experience in Finance and Controlling functions, either with experience within a corporate or accounting firm
  • Strong accounting knowledge, with J-GAAP or IFRS/FRS
  • Excellent attention to details Positive attitude: ‘can do’ approach and willing to give everything a go from manual processing to larger projects
  • Excellent organisation skills: ability to plan and organise work so that it is efficient and effective 
  • Ability to comprehend and narrate financial records
  • Good punctuality and time management skills
  • Strong analytical skills and a hands on attitude
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills
  • Business level proficiency in English
