Our client, a foreign import export company mainly into tissue papers, slippers, shoes production based in
Cotonou, Benin is seeking an enthusiastic, goal driven, and dedicated professional with a strong sense of
integrity to fill this vacant position.
Job Title: Factory Manager
Location: Cotonou, Benin
Job Description:
The factory manager, also known as the production manager, oversees the daily operations of a factory or
manufacturing facility. The individual will be responsible for ensuring the smooth execution of
production activities while adhering to quality, safety, and profitability standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Management:
- Recruit, train, and supervise production staff (assemblers, packers, equipment operators, etc.).
- Identify and hire one or two strategic production technicians to assist in production operations.
- Hire a commercial technician to organize a marketing team and enhance the commercial strategy.
- Evaluate employee performance and provide support to improve efficiency and productivity.
Training and Development:
- Attend specialized training sessions in Ghana to acquire knowledge specific to local production
practices and best practices in the industry.
- Implement a continuous development program for production teams.
Planning and Coordination:
- Develop work schedules and assign tasks based on production priorities.
- Coordinate manufacturing activities to meet deadlines and objectives.
Resource Management:
- Efficiently allocate resources (equipment, raw materials, and staff) to maintain production
standards.
- Negotiate with suppliers and service providers to ensure cost-effective and quality solutions.
Production Oversight:
- Monitor manufacturing processes and adjust methods as needed.
- Collaborate with quality control teams to ensure products meet established standards.
- Regularly review and audit processes to identify areas for improvement.
Safety and Compliance:
- Train teams on safety protocols and ensure adherence to relevant regulations.
- Provide tools and resources necessary to maintain a safe and efficient working environment.
Financial Management and Reporting:
- Estimate production costs and develop strategies to optimize expenses.
- Prepare detailed reports on production performance for senior management.

- In-depth knowledge of industrial processes and production tools.

Education and Experience:
- Degree in production management, engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in a management role within an industrial environment (minimum 5 years )
that is specifically into tissue paper, slippers, shoes production is preferred.
- Availability to attend professional training sessions in Ghana.
- Fluent speaker in English and French/ Ewe (Lome language) is highly preferred.
