Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Drama Teacher role based in the Greater Accra Region, Ghana. The Drama Teacher will plan and deliver engaging drama and performing arts lessons aligned with the school’s Cambridge Primary and Secondary frameworks. Daily responsibilities include teaching acting and drama techniques, directing class performances and school productions, and integrating drama into cross-curricular projects. The role also involves developing age-appropriate drama curricula, assessing student progress, and providing constructive feedback. The Drama Teacher will collaborate with colleagues, communicate regularly with families, and contribute to a safe, inclusive, and creative learning environment.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Drama and Performing Arts, with the ability to inspire creativity and confidence in students.
- Demonstrated experience in Teaching and Teaching Acting, preferably with children in primary and/or early secondary levels.
- Proficiency in Curriculum Development for drama or performing arts, including lesson planning and assessment design.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Performing Arts, Theatre Arts, or a related field (or equivalent relevant experience).
- Experience with international curricula (e.g., Cambridge or similar) is an advantage.
- Excellent classroom management, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to inclusive teaching practices.
- Ability to collaborate in a diverse school community and participate in co-curricular activities, rehearsals, and school events as needed.
