Compliance & Internal Control Specialist

Are you passionate about integrity, transparency, and regulatory compliance? CIMPOR Ghana is looking for a Compliance & Internal Control Specialist to be based in Tema, ACCRA, supporting the Group Director of Internal Audit, Risk and Compliance, as well as the Global Compliance Coordinator, in implementing and sustaining world-class compliance standards and internal control framework across our operations.

Key Responsibilities:

✅ Assist in building, implementing, and monitoring the organization’s Risk-Control Matrix.

✅ Support the roll-out of the CIMPOR Compliance Program locally, in alignment with global standards and Ghana regulations.

✅ Oversee mandatory compliance tasks such as training programs, third-party screening, and declarations.

✅ Support compliance communication initiatives across the local entity.

✅ Monitor regulatory changes to ensure internal policies remain compliant with laws and ethical guidelines.

✅ Conduct risk assessments related to AML/CTF, sanctions, corruption, and KYC for new and existing businesses or clients.

✅ Coordinate with internal/external auditors and regulatory authorities during inspections or reviews.

✅ Perform compliance assessments and propose improvements where needed.

✅ Maintain up-to-date documentation and company policies.

✅ Execute internal control activities and report any deficiencies to the Cimpor Africa Internal Control Senior Specialist and the Group Director.

✅ Recommend and implement process improvements to strengthen internal controls.

✅ Perform or propose local internal investigations when necessary.

✅ Follow up on findings and action plans from audit and compliance reviews.

✅ Assist in preparing reports and presentations for senior leadership.

✅ Support implementation of Enterprise Risk Management and Business Continuity Frameworks.

What We’re Looking For:

• Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
• Experience in Compliance, Internal Audit, Internal Control or Risk Management.
• Strong understanding of Ghana regulatory requirements and international compliance frameworks.
• Strong understanding of internal control frameworks and controls.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.
• SAP knowledge preferrable
