Serve as the designated Anti-Money Laundering Reporting Officer (AMLRO) and lead the Company’s regulatory and compliance function.
AML/CFT & Regulatory Reporting
Designated AMLRO: Serve as the official Anti-Money Laundering Reporting Officer in strict accordance with the Anti-Money Laundering Act, 2020 (Act 1044) and all applicable Bank of Ghana directives.
Filing & Documentation: Take full ownership of identifying, investigating, and filing Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) and Currency Transaction Reports (CTRs) with the Financial Intelligence Centre (FIC).
Statutory Returns: Prepare and submit all required periodic regulatory reports, returns, and compliance updates to the relevant authorities within prescribed timelines.
Compliance Framework & Risk Management
Fin tech Compliance: Ensure ongoing, end-to-end institutional compliance with the Payment Systems and Services Act, 2019 (Act 987) and all other evolving fin tech/payment frameworks issued by the Bank of Ghana.
Policy Management: Develop, implement, maintain, and periodically update the company's AML/CFT policies, procedures, and internal control systems to match international best practices.
Risk Assessments: Conduct regular institutional compliance risk assessments and proactively advise senior management and the Board of Directors on emerging regulatory risks, trends, and obligations.
Stakeholder Management & Training
Regulatory Liaison: Act as the primary, day-to-day point of contact and build strong working relationships with the Bank of Ghana, the Financial Intelligence Centre (FIC), and other relevant regulatory authorities.
Culture & Training: Design and lead mandatory staff AML/CFT training, onboarding compliance tracks, and continuous awareness programs to embed a robust compliance culture across all departments.
Strategic Advisory: Monitor localized and global regulatory changes in the digital payments and broader financial services sector, delivering proactive impact analyses to management.
Operational Support: Undertake any other relevant duties and compliance projects as assigned by the Chief Operations Officer or senior executive management.
Experience
Industry Track Record: A minimum of 4 to 6 years of progressive experience in compliance, legal, or risk management roles, specifically within the Fin-tech, Mobile Money, Remittance, or Banking sectors in Ghana.
Regulatory Exposure: Proven, direct experience interfacing with Ghanaian regulators (specifically the Bank of Ghana and FIC) and a deep working familiarity with filing protocols on the FIC portal.

Education & Professional Certifications
Academic Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B), Finance, Business Administration, Risk Management, or a related social science discipline.
Professional Certification: Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS), International Compliance Association (ICA) diploma, or an equivalent globally recognized compliance certification is highly preferred.
Knowledge & Core Competencies
Legal Frameworks: Comprehensive, expert-level understanding of Act 1044 and Act 987 of Ghana, alongside general digital financial service regulations.
Technical Proficiency: Experience with AML monitoring tools, transaction screening software, and automated risk-scoring systems.
Analytical Skills: Strong investigative skills with a sharp eye for detecting unusual financial patterns, transaction anomalies, and potential fraud vectors.
Communication & Integrity: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills needed to write clear regulatory narratives and present to senior executives. Beyond reproach ethical standards and personal integrity.
