Yango Taxi Fleet in Accra is expanding, and we are looking for a highly experienced and proactive Chief Mechanic to lead our technical operations and ensure our vehicles remain in top condition.
This is a leadership role for a strong technical professional who can manage people, solve complex mechanical issues, and keep our fleet running efficiently 24/7.
🔧 Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee full technical condition of the taxi fleet
- Diagnose and solve complex vehicle issues
- Plan and coordinate mechanics’ workflow
- Recruit and supervise mechanics
- Search and negotiate with new suppliers
- Work with new contractors and partners
- Ensure fast and effective problem resolution
- Maintain 24/7 communication with drivers regarding technical issues
- Optimize maintenance processes and reduce downtime
✅ Requirements:
- Advanced technical knowledge of vehicle mechanics (expert level)
- Valid driver’s license
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Experience managing a team of mechanics
- Ability to negotiate with suppliers and contractors
- Problem-solving mindset and ability to work under pressure
- Availability for emergency communication when needed
