Job Description/Requirements
 Principal Duties/Responsibilities:
 Organization-wide Strategy Articulation and Direction
- Â Drive the articulation of the organization's strategy, ensuring it is cascaded across the business for effective implementation
- Champion all activities related to strategic planning, financial analysis, competitive analysis, operations analysis, capital planning etc. for the business
- Provide overall strategic leadership to the business, ensuring that established goals, objectives and plans support overall strategic aspirations
 Commercial Strategy Articulation and Implementation
- Â Drive the articulation of the organization's overall commercial strategy, exploring various business models (including online and brick-and-mortar) to develop a bespoke model and approach for the business
- Oversee the implementation of the commercial strategy in actualizing revenue goals across sales, marketing, new product development, merchandising, merchandising route-to-market etc., all targeted at driving business and market share expansion
 Collaboration and Partnerships
- Â Identify, develop and manage strategic partnerships and collaborations with partners both across the healthcare value chain(including regulators) and other key industries(both drug and non-drug) for the benefit of the business
- Serve as liaison to key external stakeholders including government, community, media and regulatory bodies, furthering the objectives of the business
 Pharmacy Operations Governance
- Maintain overall responsibility for ensuring that pharmacy operations are in line with best practice and defined governance frameworks to ensure the continued provision of quality services
 Business Management
- Â Ensure the development of relevant structures (process, people, and systems) to support the achievement of the vision, goals and objectives of the business Provide a single point of ownership and accountability for all business services and operations throughout the organization
- Ensure the efficient utilization of financial resources within established policies of the organization, making appropriate and timely financial and management decisions for the business
 Talent Management
- Drive a high performance team culture and oversee the maintenance of a work environment across the business that encourages team work, efficiency and effectiveness

Financial Management and Investment
- Â Manage the business in line with defined business policies, business plans and budget, and to meet financial goals
- Ensure overall business growth is in accordance with the set financial objectives and plans and establish performance goals to track the attainment of set goals
- Examine all financial investments and major capital expenditure for the business and ensure alignment with set objectives
- Serve as the approving authority for major financial operations, transactions and activities for the business or as specified by the delegation of authority

Governance and Board Management
- Â Ensure timely preparation and rendition of relevant reports to the Board
- Manage relationships with Board stakeholders
- Ensure timely implementation of Board decisions
- Perform other duties as required by the Board

Strategic Projects and New store Roll-out
- Â Maintain overall responsibility and oversight for design and implementation of strategic projects as well as new store roll-out including planning, budgeting, execution, and post evaluation of new stores including pre qualification of sites, development of standards for site selection, expansion models, structure, staffing, marketing strategies, and inventory assortment
Requirements:
- Â First Degree
- A postgraduate qualification or an MBA would be an advantage
- Minimum of 15 years’ post-qualification experience, with 5 years in similar role, leading a pharmaceutical or healthcare business
- Deep understanding of macroeconomic trends and directions
- Deep understanding of the healthcare industry, and key players across the healthcare value chain
- Proven experience as a healthcare business leader or other relevant senior leadership role.
- An entrepreneurial thinker with a commercial awareness partnered with a strategic mindset who develops and drives new thinking which is both creative and realistic.
- Ability to plan strategically and successfully monitor growth in an organization
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong relationship-building skills and experience building strategic partnerships across the entirety of the healthcare industry.
- Strong critical thinking and business curiosity, including strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills
- Strong ability to work with complex data to drive insights and decisions
- Exceptional people skills– emotionally intelligent, able to connect, build and develop relationships and enjoys working collaboratively
- Strong organizational and leadership skills including excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to represent the business externally across a wide range of stakeholders.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to quickly establish credibility
