Overview
As a key member of our West African operations, you will be responsible for championing and coordinating workstreams across multiple markets in the region. You will be working closely with a team of talented integrated communications talent, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.
Responsibilities

Acting as the client partner for growth, the Business Director leverages support from the multidisciplinary agency team & the Publicis global network to provide carefully considered, quick to market solutions based on the agreed annual scope of work and beyond.
The Business Director understands what makes ‘great’ work - and works with clients and agency teams to drive break-through communications by leading and motivating agency teams to meet and exceed those expectations.
Coordinating the response to briefs, the Business Director guides, challenges and inspires the work carried out by creative, production, digital, influencer and planning teams so that outstanding, holistic solutions are produced, approved and translated into campaigns for market or regional implementation across multiple markets in West, Central and Sub-Saharan African countries as may be relevant.
Scope
He/she is expected to nurture and cultivate senior level client relationships and is responsible for day-to-day aspects of the client’s business as well as ownership and delivery of the scope of work.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Lead the client agency collaboration of writing the brief
- Ensure clear stakeholder alignment on available budget and timescales for the campaign
- Ensure client & agency teams are aware of the timeframes involved for legal/regulatory review across CWAR, approvals and any associated costs
- Ensure client feedback on each creative idea is delivered immediately and correctly to agency and third party teams as appropriate.
- Support client on development and use of research stimulus and the related costs/timings involved with the production of these
- Work with the client to create a joint picture of what “good” and “fantastic” look like
- Manage and track agency fee on the category with clear intent of mining for scope for revenue uplift.
- Participate in the quarterly business reviews on client’s business
- Manage and own the scope of work and key KPI’s mutually agreed between agency client teams.
- Manage the bi-annual agency client evaluation process
Managing Process
- Responsible for Managing brand/business scope of work and Out of Scopes
- Manage all stakeholders (client, Groupe, agency internal, third party):
- Schedule and champion internal agency reviews prior to client presentations
- Schedule, prepare for and present during weekly status meetings with client.
- Ensure that the agency draws on the global brand teams in Publicis Paris (and the wider global network where necessary) through scheduled weekly check ins and scheduled sharing of status reports.
- Ensure that key milestones such as business reviews, market visits, competitor reviews are managed and followed up.
- Drive commercial aspects of the assigned accounts to ensure responsible and timely cost estimation to final invoicing to clients as well as vendor-related commercials, and work effectively with the
finance team on the same.
- Ensure delivery of a creative solution which is relevant to the client’s business/brand by working with Planning and Creative to gain a thorough understanding of the client's commercial macro/micro environment, competitor behaviour and positioning
- Manage the agency creative, digital and production teams to ensure critical timings are met
- Utilize research from Planning to ensure comms ideas/creative material will be effective in contributing to the success of client’s business/brand
- Attend pre‐production meetings with agency departments and client to present production script, shot list, and a detailed production estimate for client approval
- Work collaboratively with agency departments to schedule a date and time to shoot campaign upon client approval
- Partner with creative, planning, digital and production teams to produce conversation changing campaign materials for client campaigns.
- Ensure all disciplines are well briefed in sufficient time and working in the same direction, to the same time and budget limitations, raising concerns before they become client facing issues
- Present final edited creative work to client and gain approval
- Orchestrate day to day delivery of projects across several disciplines
- Ensure client is always aware of progress and hitches at all time
- Maintain the highest standards of creativity and quality throughout the development and implementation of all work
