Role Description The Behaviour Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Accra, working directly with neurodivergent children and young people under the supervision of clinical or senior staff. This team member will implement individualized behavior intervention plans, collect data on goals and progress, and use evidence-based strategies to teach communication, social, academic, and daily living skills in home, school, and center-based settings. The role involves preparing session materials, following safety and safeguarding protocols, and documenting sessions accurately and promptly. The Behaviour Technician will collaborate with families, educators, and other professionals, modeling strategies for caregivers and participating in team meetings and case reviews. The position also includes ongoing learning, supervision, and skills development to maintain high-quality, ethical practice aligned with the center’s values.

Qualifications

• Strong behavior support skills, including implementing behavior intervention plans, applying basic behavior analysis principles, and following data-driven guidance from supervisors.
• Ability to teach and support communication, social, and daily living skills using structured, play-based, and Montessori-aligned approaches.
• Competence in observation, data collection, and accurate documentation of sessions, goals, and behavior patterns.
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills for working with children, families, educators, and multidisciplinary team members.
• Demonstrated patience, empathy, cultural humility, and professionalism when supporting neurodivergent learners and their caregivers.
• Ability to follow established protocols, maintain confidentiality, and adhere to ethical and safeguarding standards.
• Comfort working in home, school, and community environments, with flexibility to adapt to varied schedules and routines.
• Minimum of a high school diploma; a diploma or degree in psychology, education, social sciences, special education, or a related field is preferred.
• Prior experience working with children or neurodivergent individuals (e.g., autism, ADHD, learning differences) is highly desirable.
