Job Summary
As an Analyst, System Architect, your mission is to design and implement robust and scalable IT solutions that meet business requirements, enhance operational efficiency, and drive innovation across the organization, reporting to the Manager, Solution Architecture (Mobile & Business Support Systems (BSS). Your core job purpose is to analyze business needs, architect technical solutions, and collaborate with cross-functional teams and service providers to deliver effective IT solutions aligned with organizational goals. Through your expertise in system architecture, you will drive the design and implementation of solutions that optimize performance, security, and usability, ultimately contributing to the success and growth of the organization.
Job Context
- Organizational Environment: Understanding the organization's structure, culture, goals, and priorities, and how they influence IT solution architecture decisions and initiatives.
- Technology Landscape: Awareness of the organization's existing technology infrastructure, systems, platforms, and tools, as well as emerging technologies and industry trends relevant to system architecture.
- Business Needs and Requirements: Knowledge of the organization's business objectives, processes, workflows, and functional requirements, and how they inform the design and implementation of IT solutions.
- Stakeholder Expectations: Recognition of the expectations, preferences, and feedback of key stakeholders, including business leaders, end-users – internal and external, IT teams, and external partners, in shaping IT solution architecture decisions.
- Regulatory and Compliance Requirements: Awareness of regulatory frameworks, industry standards, data privacy laws, and security protocols that govern IT solutions and influence architecture decisions.
- Resource Constraints: Understanding of budgetary constraints, resource limitations, timelines, and other constraints that impact the feasibility and scope of IT solution architecture projects.
- Market and Competitive Landscape: Awareness of market dynamics, competitive trends, customer preferences, and industry benchmarks that inform IT solution architecture strategies and priorities.

Job Role
Requirements Analysis and Solution Design
- Analyze business requirements and technical constraints to design scalable and efficient IT solutions that meet organizational needs.
- Develop system architecture designs, including software components, infrastructure components, data models, and integration points, considering factors such as performance, security, and usability.
Technical Leadership and Guidance
- Provide technical guidance to cross-functional teams, including developers, engineers, and project managers, throughout the solution design and implementation process.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on system architecture principles, patterns, and best practices, offering insights and recommendations to address complex technical challenges.
Architecture Documentation and Communication
- Create clear and comprehensive architecture documentation, including diagrams, specifications, and technical reports, to communicate architecture designs and decisions to stakeholders.
- Present architecture proposals, options, and trade-offs to business stakeholders, IT teams, and senior leadership, facilitating informed decision-making and alignment.
Solution Implementation and Validation
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure successful implementation of architecture designs, providing guidance on coding standards, development best practices, and architecture principles.
- Conduct architectural reviews and validations to ensure that implemented solutions adhere to architectural guidelines, meet quality standards, and align with business requirements.
- Review and sign off design documentation provided by IT service providers and ensure they conform to business requirements.
Risk Management and Compliance
- Identify and mitigate risks related to system architecture, including security vulnerabilities, performance bottlenecks, and compliance gaps with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Monitor emerging technology trends, security threats, and regulatory changes, proactively addressing risks and ensuring that architecture designs remain current and resilient.
Continuous Improvement and Innovation
- Continuously evaluate and improve architecture practices, implemented solutions, processes, and methodologies to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and quality of architecture deliverables.
- Research and assess emerging technologies, tools, and frameworks relevant to system architecture, recommending innovative solutions to drive business value and competitive advantage.
Stakeholder Engagement and Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with business stakeholders, IT teams, vendors, and external partners, fostering collaboration and alignment on architecture-related initiatives.
- Act as a trusted advisor to business leaders and project sponsors, providing insights and recommendations on technology strategies, investments, and roadmaps.
Performance Monitoring and Optimization
- Monitor the performance and scalability of implemented solutions, identifying opportunities for optimization, enhancement, or refactoring to improve system performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Implement monitoring tools and metrics to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and ensure that architecture designs meet performance targets and service level agreements (SLAs).
Education
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related field.
Experience
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in IT architecture, system design, software development, or a related role.
- Experience with system architecture design, including software components, infrastructure components, data models, and integration points.
- Familiarity with architecture frameworks and methodologies like TOGAF and software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, DevOps).
- Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex business requirements and design effective technical solutions.
- Proficiency in system architecture principles, patterns, and best practices, with the ability to design scalable and efficient architectures.
- Technical expertise in a variety of technology platforms, systems, and tools, including cloud computing, databases, networking, security, and application development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in architecture modeling tools and other relevant software tools used in system architecture design and documentation.
