Company Description Social Enterprise Ghana (SE Ghana) is a national network that works to build a strong, supportive ecosystem for social enterprises by increasing access to funding, influencing policy, and promoting learning and innovation. The organization places a strong emphasis on research and data to better understand and strengthen the social enterprise sector. SE Ghana is part of the African Social Entrepreneurship Network (ASEN), which focuses on improving the social entrepreneurship landscape across the continent. By bringing together social entrepreneurs, SE Ghana fosters collaboration, mutual support, and collective leadership in driving social and economic impact. The network also advocates for the shared interests of its members and the wider social enterprise community.
Role Description The Accounts and Finance Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in the Tema Metropolitan District. This position is responsible for overseeing day-to-day financial operations, including managing accounts payable and receivable, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring timely bank reconciliations. The role involves preparing budgets, financial reports, and forecasts to support strategic decision-making and compliance with relevant regulations and donor requirements. The Accounts and Finance Manager will develop and implement financial policies, monitor cash flow, and support audits and internal controls. The individual will collaborate with program and management teams to align financial planning with organizational goals and to ensure efficient use of resources.
Qualifications

  • Strong accounting and financial management skills, including general ledger management, budgeting, and financial reporting.
  • Experience with financial controls, compliance, and audit processes, ideally within nonprofit or social enterprise settings.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel for financial analysis and reporting.
  • Ability to interpret financial data, prepare forecasts, and provide clear financial insights to leadership and project teams.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work constructively with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA) is an advantage.
  • Demonstrated commitment to social impact or experience working with social enterprises, NGOs, or mission-driven organizations is highly desirable.
