Account Officer
Job summary
The Account Officer is responsible for managing daily financial transactions, maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, monitoring payments, and supporting budgeting and reconciliation processes. The role ensures compliance with financial policies and helps maintain the company’s financial stability through proper accounting practices.
Job descriptions & requirements
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and reports.
- Process invoices, payments, receipts, and other financial transactions.
- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
- Reconcile bank statements and company accounts regularly.
- Assist with payroll preparation and statutory deductions.
- Ensure compliance with company financial policies and accounting standards.
- Support budgeting, expense tracking, and cost control activities.
- Maintain proper filing and documentation of financial records.
- Assist during audits and provide necessary financial information when required.
- Compliance & Financial Control
- Ensure accuracy and confidentiality of financial information.
- Monitor financial transactions to ensure proper authorization and documentation.
- Support tax filing and statutory compliance processes.
- Assist in identifying and resolving accounting discrepancies.
- Promote adherence to internal financial controls and procedures.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 2–3 years of proven experience in an accounting or finance role, preferably within an FMCG or manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and taxation.
- Experience with accounting software and payroll systems is an added advantage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Knowledge of statutory deductions and compliance requirements is an advantage.
- Willingness and ability to visit customers in the field to verify and monitor debt records.
- Ability to assist the Customer Service Representative in following up and communicating with customers regarding outstanding payments and account-related matters.
