The Technical Sales Specialist (Poultry & Livestock) is responsible for driving sales growth while providing technical support and advisory services to poultry and livestock farmers, distributors, and dealers. The role combines technical expertise in animal nutrition and production with strong commercial acumen to expand market share, build lasting customer relationships, and promote the company's range of poultry and livestock feed products.

Key Responsibilities
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for poultry and livestock feed products.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with poultry farmers, livestock producers, distributors, dealers, and key accounts across assigned territories.
- Identify and secure new business opportunities to increase market penetration and sales volumes.
- Provide technical advice and recommendations on poultry and livestock nutrition, feeding programmes, animal health, and farm management practices.
- Conduct regular farm visits to monitor product performance, troubleshoot customer challenges, and recommend appropriate feeding solutions.
- Organize and deliver product demonstrations, farmer education programmes, technical seminars, and dealer training sessions.
- Promote the company's feed products and technical solutions to enhance customer productivity and profitability.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, customer feedback, and emerging industry developments, providing timely reports to management.
- Work closely with the marketing, production, and technical teams to support product launches and promotional activities.
- Prepare accurate sales forecasts, customer visit reports, and market intelligence reports.
- Ensure timely collection of customer payments in line with the company's credit policy.
- Maintain high standards of customer service and promptly resolve technical and commercial issues.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Animal Science, Animal Nutrition, Veterinary Medicine, Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering, or a related field.
- Additional training or certification in poultry production, livestock management, or animal nutrition is an advantage.
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years' proven experience in technical sales within the poultry feed or livestock feed industry.
- Demonstrated experience providing technical support to poultry and livestock farmers.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong technical knowledge of poultry and livestock nutrition, feed formulation, and production systems.
- Excellent sales, negotiation, and business development skills.
- Strong communication, presentation, and relationship management abilities.
- Ability to diagnose farm production challenges and recommend practical feeding solutions.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience using CRM systems is an added advantage.
Key Requirements
- Must have an established network of poultry and livestock farmers, dealers, distributors, and key industry stakeholders.
- Must possess a valid driver's licence with a minimum of three (3) years' driving experience.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively across the country.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong customer service orientation and commercial awareness.
