Job Title: Special Assistant to the President
Location: Accra, Ghana (less than 10% travel anticipated)
Reports to: Groupe Nduom President (Ghana)
Special Assistant to President
The special assistant will ensure that the President consistently has access to the information,
individuals and other resources that he needs to set priorities, make decisions, and interact with the
individuals around him. This role has significant potential for growth within the group - successful
candidates will enter at the Associate level and successful candidates with superlative performance and
fit within the organization will be promoted and rewarded accordingly.
Description of Duties and Tasks
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:
- Serve as a member of the President's executive staff, observing and potentially playing a key contributory role in these discussions.
- Take a proactive role to increase the productivity, efficiency, and organization of the Office of the President, ensuring that his time is focused on accomplishing the organization’s highest priorities with a special focus on technology such as AI and automation.
- Facilitate, in concert with the President, communication with the Board.
- Supervise the handling of all requests for meetings and appointments, scheduling or redirecting.
- Conduct relevant research and prepare documents for meetings
- Coordinate travel and create agendas that allow the President to focus on high impact activities during trips
- Prepare internal and external communications such as memos and presentations from the President
- Generate expense reports for reimbursements and perform reconciliations for President expenses
- Track the timelines of various internal and external projects to ensure that deadlines are met and goals accomplished
- Play a leadership role during special projects and autonomous assignments as required
Skills Required
- Superb interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Strong work ethic, positive attitude, creativity, and flexibility
- Sound judgment, maturity, and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
- High level of proficiency in MS Office, PowerPoint, Excel and Adobe Acrobat
- Confort with and/or a high level of enthusiasm regarding AI tools
- Comfort with new technology and ability to troubleshoot equipment, as needed
- Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple projects.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritize, and problem-solve.
- Knowledge of French and/or one or more Ghanaian languages preferred but not required.
Work Experience
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience interacting with senior-level individuals in public sector and/or private sector environment.
Education
- Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from a reputable educational institution or similar
qualification recommended
