About GCCE
The Ghana Climate Centre of Excellence (GCCE) is a climate-focused institution committed to advancing climate research, innovation, policy dialogue, capacity building, and community engagement.
We are looking for a creative, proactive, and digitally savvy Social Media Manager Intern to help strengthen GCCE’s online presence and communicate our climate work to a wider audience.
Role Overview
The Social Media Manager Intern will support the development and management of GCCE’s social media platforms, creating compelling content that informs, educates, engages, and inspires audiences around climate action and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and maintain a social media content calendar.
* Create engaging posts, captions, graphics, reels, stories, and short-form videos.
* Manage and grow GCCE’s social media platforms.
* Research relevant climate, environmental, and social media trends.
* Engage with followers and respond to comments and messages professionally.
* Promote GCCE programs, events, partnerships, campaigns, and initiatives.
* Monitor social media performance and prepare basic analytics reports.
* Support digital campaigns and online awareness initiatives.
* Collaborate with communications and program teams to develop creative content.
* Ensure all content aligns with GCCE’s brand, mission, and professional standards.
Requirements
* Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree/diploma in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Media, Public Relations, Graphic Design, or a related field.
* Strong understanding of social media platforms and digital trends.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Creative eye for visual storytelling and content creation.
* Basic proficiency in Canva and video-editing tools such as CapCut.
* Ability to write engaging captions and communicate ideas clearly.
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
* Interest in climate action, sustainability, environmental issues, or development is an advantage.
