JOB SUMMARY

Manage all the Financial Entries and transactions including the closing of the books, general ledger updates and review the reporting of monthly revenue activities associated with the business.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.
  • Work with the account team to review data for deficiencies or errors, correct any irreconcilabilities if possible.
  • Ensure the timely reporting of all monthly financial information.
  • Preparation and reconciliation of banks and customer transactions
  • Ensure the monthly and quarterly Bank Compliance activities are performed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Preparation and settlements of tax liabilities such as PAYE, SSNIT (Tier 1, 2 & 3) and V.A.T
  • Maintain computerized accounting system for all sale and purchase order
  • Establish tables of accounts, and assign entries to proper accounts
  • Prepare year to date accrual postings for all operational expenses
  • Periodically reconcile balance sheet accounts (Bank, Debtors, Creditors and Inventory Accounts)
  • Support budget and forecasting activities.
  • Work with the Finance Manager to develop and implement policies and procedures with emphasis on internal controls
  • Ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met.
  • Assist in Financial Auditing with external auditors
  • Liaising with external auditors and other regulatory bodies to ensure all regulatory requirements are duly undertaken.
  • Assist in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department.
  • Support Finance Manager with special projects and workflow process improvements.
  • Perform other duties as directed by the Head of Department


JOB SPECIFICATION

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting and finance, Business administration or similar.
  • Must have at least 10 years’ experience in related field
  • Must have experience in Visual Dolphin & Microsoft Dynamics NAV
  • Professional membership in accounting/finance will be an added advantage


REQUIRMENTS

  • Good Command of English -Written and Spoken
  • Must be trustworthy and ethical – High level of Integrity
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Adequate Knowledge in Financial Statements and Processes
  • Adequate Knowledge in Financial Analysis
  • Adequate Knowledge in Labor Law and Financial Regulations and Legislation
  • Adequate Knowledge in Budgetary Planning
  • Adequate Knowledge in Developing Short and Long-term Financial Strategies
  • Adequate Knowledge in IFRS.
  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines.
