Position Summary

A leading industrial solutions provider is seeking a highly experienced and results-driven Mining Sales Engineer to promote and sell electrical and automation solutions to the mining sector. The role supports both surface and underground mining operations and focuses on low-voltage (LV) and medium-voltage (MV) equipment, power distribution systems, drives, motors, motor control centers (MCCs), automation systems, and control panels designed for harsh mining environments.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing mining accounts, supporting capital and maintenance projects, and delivering safe, reliable, and energy-efficient electrical solutions that meet operational, regulatory, and productivity requirements.


Key Responsibilities
Mining Client Development & Business Growth

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with mining companies, EPC/EPCM contractors, OEMs, system integrators, and mine operators.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities in greenfield, brownfield, expansion, and sustaining capital projects.
  • Promote mining electrical solutions by emphasizing safety, reliability, operational uptime, energy efficiency, and lifecycle value.
  • Conduct regular site visits to surface and underground mining operations to understand technical challenges and operational needs.


Sales Execution & Account Management

  • Manage the full sales lifecycle from enquiry, technical clarification, tender support, negotiation, and order closure to post-sale support.
  • Prepare accurate and competitive technical and commercial quotations aligned with mining standards and company policies.
  • Develop and execute mining-focused sales strategies aligned with annual revenue targets.
  • Maintain a strong sales pipeline, provide accurate forecasts, and submit periodic performance reports.
  • Negotiate commercial terms, delivery schedules, and contracts to secure profitable business opportunities.


Technical Support & Solution Engineering

  • Provide technical guidance on electrical and automation solutions suitable for mining environments.
  • Support customized solutions including MV/LV switchgear, MCCs, variable speed drives (VSDs), soft starters, transformers, and automation systems.
  • Work closely with engineering, projects, and supply chain teams to ensure compliance with safety standards and delivery timelines.
  • Deliver technical presentations, product demonstrations, and training sessions to client engineering teams.


Market Intelligence & Industry Engagement

  • Monitor mining industry trends, commodity cycles, and competitor activities.
  • Provide structured market intelligence and customer insights to support strategic planning.
  • Participate in product certification programs, safety trainings, and professional development initiatives.
  • Share feedback from mining projects to support continuous product and service improvement.


Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 5–8 years of experience in mining electrical sales, heavy industry, or industrial automation.
  • Proven track record of generating annual sales revenue of USD 500,000 or more.
  • Strong knowledge of MV/LV power systems, drives, motors, MCCs, transformers, protection systems, and automation solutions.
  • Experience working with mining operators, EPC/EPCM firms, OEMs, and large-scale capital projects.
  • Strong understanding of mining safety standards, reliability requirements, and regulatory compliance.

  • Strong consultative selling and technical solution sales capabilities.
  • Excellent negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Ability to interpret single-line diagrams, technical specifications, and engineering documentation.
  • Excellent relationship management with site engineers, project teams, and senior management.
  • Self-driven, resilient, and capable of managing long and complex sales cycles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
