Volunteer Partnerships for West Africa (VPWA) is supporting a partner international school in Accra to recruit a Robotics, Coding and AI Instructor to join its rapidly growing technology-driven learning programme. The school follows an international curriculum with a strong emphasis on inquiry-based learning, digital innovation, and small class sizes that allow learners to explore computing in meaningful, hands-on ways.
VPWA is therefore inviting applications from qualified and passionate educators to fill this specialised role for the 2025/2026 Academic Year.
Available Position
• Robotics, Coding & AI Instructor (supporting Early Years, Primary and Upper Primary learners)
Preferred Specialism
Computing, Digital Literacy, Coding, Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, or closely related fields.
Key Responsibilities
• Teach age-appropriate lessons in computing, digital literacy, coding, robotics, and foundational AI concepts.
• Guide students through hands-on problem-solving using platforms such as Scratch, Blockly, Python, and LEGO-based or similar robotics kits.
• Design engaging, project-based learning experiences that nurture creativity, logical reasoning, and computational thinking.
• Foster a safe, stimulating, tech-enabled learning environment that encourages experimentation and innovation.
• Assess and track learners’ progress, providing timely feedback and differentiated support.
• Collaborate with teachers across subjects to integrate technology into inquiry-led learning.
• Maintain and manage robotics equipment, devices, and digital learning resources.
• Attend planning meetings, training sessions, and contribute to the school’s wider technology vision.
Required Qualifications
• Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Robotics, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Experience teaching children (ages 4–12) in computing, coding, robotics, or digital literacy.
• Familiarity with coding platforms such as Scratch, Code.org, Blockly, Python, micro:bit, LEGO Spike/Mindstorms, and introductory AI tools.
• Ability to simplify complex computing concepts for young learners.
• Strong communication skills, patience, creativity, and a child-centred teaching approach.
• Experience in an international, inquiry-based, or Cambridge school setting is an added advantage.
