Introduction

The Magna Conventus LBG (formerly Horizon Council) is a new NGO established to pursue governance initiatives in the country. The organisation is currently planning its flagship and maiden project, The Trial Debates, which is a public policy debate program for TV.

A Research Officer is needed in the organising committee for The Trial Debates, to undertake the following responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate pilot studies under the program.
• Write and publish papers or reports from pilot studies conducted.
• Help identify prospective funding agencies and draft winning proposals for fundraising.
• Identify and liaise with other academic and publishing institutions to promote the program.
• Identify needs and goals of the program and design appropriate solutions or strategies to achieve them.

Qualifications

• An MSc., MPhil, or PhD in Development Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation, Governance or Political Science, or relevant branches of these fields, is required.
• Experience with fundraising or donor-funded projects will be a plus.
• Good communication skills.
