Research Chemist / Scientist – Polymer Innovation & Product Development
Job summary
Elrisa Chemical Limited, an emerging specialty chemicals company, is seeking a highly motivated, collaborative, and results-driven Research Chemist/Scientist to support the development of innovative, high-performance polymer solutions for industrial applications. Reporting to the R&D Director, this role combines hands-on laboratory research, experimental design, data analysis, and scientific communication to help transform polymer chemistry concepts into commercially viable products. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing new technologies and expanding Elrisa’s product portfolio.
Job descriptions & requirements
- Lead and contribute to the development of petroleum-based and bio-based resin technologies for industrial applications.
- Design, execute, analyze, and document laboratory experiments with strong scientific rigor and attention to detail.
- Develop, optimize, and validate new formulations, test methods, and experimental approaches aligned with business objectives.
- Interpret experimental results and provide technical recommendations to support product development and commercialization.
- Prepare and communicate scientific findings through technical reports, presentations, training sessions, and industry conferences.
- Write, maintain, and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and laboratory documentation.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including R&D, manufacturing, quality, and commercial teams.
- Contribute to a safe, organized, and efficient laboratory environment while adhering to all safety and regulatory requirements.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Polymer Chemistry, Materials Science, Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 0–5+ years of experience in polymer synthesis, formulation, characterization, or application development.
- Experience with one or more of the following is preferred: Polyols, Polyurethanes, Epoxy resins, Unsaturated polyester resins, Fiber-reinforced composite materials (e.g., fiberglass composites) and other industrial polymer systems
- Strong understanding of polymer chemistry and structure–property relationships.
