Job Description/Requirements
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Ensure all laboratory stocks (reagents and glasswares) are updated with quarterly reports submitted to the QCM/ Supervisors.
- Daily /monthly calibration of all analytical scales in the factory.
- Sampling of raw material/intermediates/finished products using the appropriate procedure for sampling.
- Prepare test solution (TS), volumetric solution (VS) and standardizing of VS for analytical use
- Test/analysis of raw materials and excipients, intermediates and finished products assigned to you by the QCM or his/her representative using current pharmacopoeias, and instrumental techniques (HPLC, IR, UV), as stated in the SOPs.
- Carry out any inspection of product /process/ raw materials that may be assigned to you.
- Ensure that all logbooks are duly signed by the close of day.
- Observe and comply with company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Observe and comply with good laboratory Practice (GLP)
- Observe and comply with company Health and Safety Policies.
- Any other job/duty that may be assigned to you as and when necessary, by the QCM (or his/her representative).
Key Performance Indicators:
- Sampling of intermediate/bulk products within 10 minutes for each product after its has been logged.
- Test/analysis of intermediate /bulk products correctly within 3 hours for single component and 5 hours for multicomponent considering resource availability.
- Timely / 100% completion of all analytical scale calibrations within a month.
- Test and report five (5) raw material/intermediate/bulk product within a week.
- 100% Completion and timely submission of analytical reports within 30minutes after analysis.
- Prompt responses to resolving or trouble shotting of problems that might arise in the course of work on a scale of 1 -5 (with 1 being the least responses)
- 100% compliance to policies as well as internal processes (SOPs).
Qualification : Degree or BTEC/ HND in a scientific discipline (with strong chemistry content). Chemical /pharmaceutical laboratory experience is an added advantage.
Knowledge : Familiar with industry standards and regulations. Familiar with good laboratory practices.
Work Experience : Must have minimum of 1-3 years of experience in a similar role.

Decision Making : You are NOT allowed to disclose the results of analysis to any manager/production staff without authorization from the QCM. Limited to set standards approved by the QCM and as enshrine in the
laboratory standard operating procedures. (SOPs)
Working Conditions : laboratory setting posing minimum risk. However, there may be some hazardous chemical handlings during the course of work. Hence proper use of PPEs is key.
Physical Requirements: Must be physical fit because the job requires standing and walking about.
