Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Quality Assurance Specialist role based in Accra. The specialist will be responsible for executing quality control processes, ensuring compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and conducting quality audits throughout the supply chain. The role involves monitoring production standards, maintaining detailed quality reports, and identifying areas for improvement in the overall quality management system to ensure superior product standards and compliance.
Specific Responsibilities
- Define and enforce quality procedures in accordance with SFC internal standards and certification requirements.
- Develop test and monitoring plans and procedures on products making sure all requirements are met for every batches.
- Carry out test on products with third party laboratories to check quality conformity against the SFC standard specifications.
- Lead quality trainings for sheanuts, shea butter, coconut oil, and soap producing co-operatives to enhance their level of understanding of SFC quality specifications.
- Maintain and improve product quality by assisting in the design and manufacturing of test products (soaps, creams and gels), and collaborating with other members of the management team in ensuring standard practices at all stages of product development.
- Create comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts to ensure product quality.
- Attend to client’s enquiries and ensure all questionnaires are answered and sent back on time.
- Using analysis results from external laboratories, prepare Certificate of Analysis (COA) for clients in a timely manner.
- Keep proper filling of COAs according to production and sales and make it easily available for certification and commercial department.
- Set up of QC lab to test PV, color, and texture of shea butter and other oils from Ghana.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Quality Assurance and Quality Control practices
- Experience with Quality Management and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
- Ability to perform Quality Auditing and maintain compliance standards
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with attention to detail
- Familiarity with sustainable production practices and social responsibility initiatives
- Bachelor's degree in Quality Management, Agriculture, Food Science, or a related field
- Prior experience in a similar role, particularly in the food or cosmetic production sector, is advantageous
- Minimum of 3 years’ progressive work experience in cosmetic and/or food processing industry.
- Proven experience in NOP and/or EOS certification requirements.
- Commitment to business objectives and deadlines.
- Proven record of laboratory work experience with the ability to interpret analysis results.
- Strong willingness and ability to work with a team under little or no supervision.
