Publishing Marketing Officer

Responsibilities:

• Actively seek new clients and build new account relationships
• Generate sales for titles
• Manage existing client relationships
• Plan and implement creative marketing campaigns and seek publicity for titles
• Coordinate and prepare for launches, creation of title information packets, promotional materials
• Conduct market research and present reports on the research
• Liaise with Design and Production departments
• Coordinate social media efforts for titles
• Assist with the coordination of author events and scheduling travel arrangements when needed
• Carry out market surveys, client satisfaction surveys and book development activities
• Develop and update the database of all accounts
• Market Publishing department and Buck Press

General Duties:

• Any other duties assigned by publishing manager

Key Performance Indicators

• Meets sales targets
• Timely and full execution of marketing initiatives and plans
• Timely submission of reports, press material etc. New Client acquisition – Pipeline

Reporting/Conversion Rate

• Timely fulfilment of orders
• New products and services (shows innovation and suggests new products for adoption)
• Customer satisfaction
• Ensure that campaigns for titles are effective
• Ability to communicate properly (grammar)
• Ability to take initiative

Requirements:

• Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
• Proficient with Word, Excel & Outlook
• Good report writing skills
• Strong presentation skills
• Very good networking skills
• Must possess a high sense of professionalism
• Strong interest in book publishing
• Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a deadline driven environment
• Strong organizational and follow-up skills with a strong attention to detail
• Knowledge of social media platforms (Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn) a plus
• Valid Driver’s License
