About the Role

The Project Engineering Lead ensures that CAPEX investment requirements for plant upgrades and general site infrastructure are identified, business cases are developed for approval, and projects are executed in line with best practices of project management and in compliance with Barry Callebaut’s safety standards. This role is based in Tema, reporting to the Technical Manager.

Key Responsibilities

Liaise with Group Engineering team, OEMs and stakeholders to execute projects according to best practices and in compliance with Barry Callebaut’s safety standards. Proper planning should be done in consultation with plant owners to ensure minimum downtime to plant operations. Commission and close projects with proper documentation for Asset Capitalization, booking and user handover Collaborate with user departments and management to identify and define CAPEX investment requirements. Work with Plant Manager and Technical Manager for local approval and submits CAPEX lists for group-level approval. Provide monthly reports on CAPEX status and spend Partner with the Safety department to ensure accident and incident free project execution. Ensure value for money in procurement of materials and services, with timely delivery.

About You

BSc. Operations & Project Management, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering with minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a manufacturing firm, preferably food manufacturing Strong background in Project Management and Contractor Safety Management. Analytical skills with ability to interpret technical documentation and drawings. Knowledge of safety systems and procedures. Proficiency in Microsoft Applications and Projects Ability to build people capabilities, drive change, and manage stakeholders effectively. Strong communication skills and a collaborative team player. Hands-on approach to problem solving and execution
