Job Title: Procurement Officer
Role Overview:
The Procurement Officer oversees the end-to-end sourcing and acquisition of goods, works, and services. Reporting to the Head of Procurement, you will be responsible for ensuring cost-effective, high-quality, and ethical supply chain operations that align with organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities
• Supplier Sourcing & Management: Identify, vet, and onboard reliable vendors. Maintain a robust supplier database and foster long-term partnerships to ensure supply continuity.
• Contract Negotiation: Lead negotiations on pricing, payment terms, and service level agreements (SLAs) to achieve optimal value for money.
• Procurement Operations: Manage the full procurement lifecycle, from processing Purchase Requisitions to issuing Purchase Orders (POs) and tracking deliveries.
• Inventory & Supply Chain Coordination: Monitor stock levels and collaborate with logistics teams to minimize stockouts and manage lead times effectively.
• Cost Control: Analyze spending patterns to identify cost-saving opportunities and ensure all purchases stay within the approved departmental budget.
• Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure all procurement activities comply with internal policies and relevant government regulations.
• Reporting: Prepare weekly and monthly reports on procurement spend, supplier performance, contract status, vendor rating, among other.
Required Qualifications & Experience
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in a procurement or supply chain role.
• Professional Membership: Must be a Full Member (MCIPS) or a registered Student Member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS).
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills for data analysis.

• Analytical Thinking: Strong capacity to interpret market trends and complex pricing schedules.
• Attention to Detail: Precision in drafting contracts and managing procurement documentation.
