Procurement Manager At Ut Holdings Limited

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the following position UT Holdings Ltd, Ghana:- Procurement Manager
Job Purpose
The basic purpose of the Procurement Manager is to procure, expedite and schedule deliveries of works and services to job site.
Key Responsibilities

• Good understanding of key components of a works tender document i.e Specifications, Bills of Quantities, Drawings etc.
• Maintain a database of current prices of materials, labour rates and rate analysis of works items
• Ability to prepare and vet payment certificates and control project budget
• Liaise with Project Team in the administration of projects
• Ability to review works programme and its implication on project
• Continuously monitoring, evaluating and improving contractors performance
• Resolving disputes and claims with contractors
• Promoting best practice across the company
• Involved in writing up contracts for projects
• Maintain and implement construction budget for each project
• Negotiate pricing contracts with subcontractors and suppliers
• Assist in creating scopes of work
• Meet subcontractors and suppliers on-site as necessary
• Ensure compliance to projecty budgets and provide analysis of deviations
• Develop and implement new purchasing strategies to deliver ongoing cost reductions and process simplification
• Establish new relationships with subcontractors ans suppliers to ensure adequate resources of all projects and to continually improve pricing and quality of work

• Ability to read and understand construction drawings
• Ability to review tender documents
• Ability to accurately describe and assess the status of a construction project and be ready to provide possible solutions when necessary
• Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate with subcontractors, suppliers and clients
• Excellent negotiations skills
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and experience with complex transactions with little supervision
• Excellent computer skills
• Excellent time management skills
  

Qualification Required & Experience

• Minimum of a first degree or its equivalent in Procurement and in depth knowledge of Engineering and construction Management with at least 8 years relevant experience
• A strong background in Works Procurement and Administration will be preferred
• Professional qualification in Purchasing & Supply
• Professional Member of the Ghana Institution of Engineers, Architects or Surveyors with the requisite experience are encouraged to apply.
