Job descriptions & requirements

The Organisation

The Citizen Assembly is a program to model or pilot a new form of national assembly which retains decision-making power with citizens; think of a "parliament" in which debates are led by non-partisan citizens and experts in general.

The inaugural debate of this Citizen Assembly is scheduled for the 14th of November, 2026, and proceedings of the debate will be recorded for later broadcast, as a weekly TV program.

The topic for the inaugural assembly will border on the Constitution and what to do about it to secure the best future for our country. Three different but equally common views have been strongly asserted by presidential candidates, political parties, civil society organisations, scholars and many other citizens in Ghana over the years and even now, to the effect that the best course of action for Ghana is to:

  1. Maintain the Constitution as is, and not tamper with it; while others say to
  2. Pursue constitutional amendments (as proposed by the CRC, or per some other proposal); and others say to
  3. Replace our constitution with a new constitution or system of government.

The debate of the inaugural Citizen Assembly will seek to, for the first time, create a space for all such views to be constructively discussed and debated, to arrive at a conclusion which all parties can satisfactorily agree on.
