Nursery/Preschool Teachers and Teaching Assistants/Aides

Teachers

Duties:

• Plan and teach well-structured lessons based on our school's curriculum and timetable.
• Submit lesson plan for review at the scheduled time.
• Set homework and plan other out-of-class activities to consolidate and extend the knowledge and understanding pupils have acquired.
• Utilize the outdoor spaces, facilities, resources and educational programmes to teach pupils.
• Adapt teaching to respond to the strengths and needs of pupils.
• Maintain a safe, clean and organized classroom, healthy orderly and appealing to play and learn.
• Share with the Head of Early Years observation and insights relating to specific children.
• Alert management to children with special needs, to problems, incidents and emergencies to ensure appropriate intervention is taken.

Qualification and Requirements:

• Degree, HND or Diploma in Early Childhood Education or Preschool credential is preferred.
• Computer literate.
• Must attend training classes designed to broaden professionalism, education and skill involving child care and development.

Teaching Assistants

Duties:

• Assist in developing lesson plans based on curriculum requirements and the specific needs of each child.
• Collaborate with lead teachers to monitor the development of each child.
• Understand the teacher’s routine when it comes to delivering a lesson plan and running the class in the event that the teacher is absent on a particular day.
• Work with children in the classroom to promote their learning and development.
• Assist in maintaining an environment that is safe, healthy, orderly and appealing to play and learn.
• Actively engage in activities; manage cleanliness, maintenance, and availability of classroom materials.
• Participation in mandatory staff meetings and completes annual training requirements.
• Cares for children's physical needs, which may involve nappy change, lifting and carrying very young children if necessary.
• Alerts the lead teacher to children with special needs, to problems, incidents and emergencies to ensure appropriate intervention is taken.
• Develops and maintains a cooperative working relationship with BAM students’ parents and guardians.
• Help ensure smooth, daily transition from home to school premise of classroom.
• Adhere to policies and regulations.
• Assist with other related responsibilities as assigned.

Qualification and Requirements

• Diploma or Senior High School Certificate.
• At least one(1) year experience in teaching or education center.
• Early childhood or Preschool credential is an added advantage.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and computer literate.

General requirements:

• Must possess personal attribute of love for kids needed to develop trusting relationships with the children.
• Must possess a good customer services skills to communicate effectively with staff, pupils, parents and visitors.
• Ability to be creative and lead activities in any creative arts (dance, drama, drawing, arts and crafts) will be an added advantage
