These coatings protect mining, oil and gas, marine, and construction infrastructure from corrosion, abrasion, saltwater, chemical attack, and immersion. Industrial Coatings Africa focuses on high-performance solutions for severe C5/CX environments, supporting clients that operate in demanding conditions across Africa and beyond.

Role Description The National Service Engineering Graduate role is an in-office/on-site internship position based in Accra. The intern will support engineering and technical teams in texhnical sales specifying, applying, and troubleshooting industrial and marine protective coating systems for client projects. Day-to-day responsibilities may include assisting with technical sales, site inspections, surface preparation assessments, and application quality checks, as well as preparing technical reports, test records, and project documentation. The role will also involve collaborating with senior engineers on product selection, performance evaluations, and supporting customer training or demonstrations. This position offers practical exposure to coatings technology, field work, and project coordination within a fast-paced industrial environment.

Qualifications

  • Foundational knowledge in engineering or materials science, preferably in mechanical, chemical, or corrosion engineering.
  • Strong technical aptitude, with the ability to understand coating systems, surface preparation standards, and basic corrosion protection principles.
  • Proficiency in using standard office and technical tools (e.g., MS Office, basic data analysis, report writing software).
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document findings, prepare reports, and engage with internal teams and customers.
  • Attention to detail, sound problem-solving skills, and the ability to follow safety and quality procedures on site.
  • Willingness to work in field environments, including industrial and marine sites, and to travel locally when required.
  • Relevant degree or diploma completed or in final stages (e.g., Engineering, Materials Science, Industrial Chemistry or related field).
  • Demonstrated interest in protective coatings, corrosion control, or industrial asset management is an advantage.
