Job Description/Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet customers, patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
- Answer inquiries, provide general information, and guide patients to appropriate departments or services.
- Assist patients in locating over-the-counter medications and healthcare products.
- Receive and process prescription orders from patients, ensuring accuracy and adherence to legal regulations.
- Dispense medications and verify dosage instructions as directed by licensed pharmacists or medical professionals.
- Maintain proper records of prescription orders, ensuring confidentiality and data accuracy.
- Monitor stock levels of medications, medical supplies, and over-the-counter products.
- Receive and unpack deliveries, checking for accuracy and proper storage conditions.
- Assist in regular inventory audits and restocking to ensure product availability.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing patient concerns, answering questions, and offering product recommendations.
- Handle complaints and resolve issues in a professional and courteous manner.
- Offer guidance on the proper usage of medications and healthcare products.
- Process transactions accurately using the designated point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Handle cash, credit, and electronic payments, ensuring correct pricing and change.
- Reconcile cash registers at the beginning and end of each shift.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of patient interactions, prescription transactions, and inventory levels.
- Generate necessary reports for supervisors or managers, highlighting trends and suggesting improvements.
- Adhere to health and safety protocols, including proper hygiene, sanitation, and infection control measures.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including the pharmacy or medical counter area.
- Collaborate effectively with pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
Qualifications:
- MCA certificate; additional training in pharmacy or healthcare is a plus.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in prescription processing and inventory management.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, prescription medications, and over-the-counter products.
- Familiarity with pharmacy software and point-of-sale systems.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to explain medication instructions clearly to patients.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Basic math skills for cash handling and calculating dosages.
