Position Title : Maintenance Manager
Department : Maintenance
Reports to : General Manager
Core Duties
- Manage the job performance of staff which include maintenance and repairs in all parts of the building (work floors, public rooms and guestrooms) and on all mechanical equipment such as central heating, warm water facilities, air conditioning installations, water treatment system (swimming pool), cooling systems, sanitation facilities, etc.
- Supervise work schedules based on fault reports, repairs and maintenance requests of departments and planned periodical inspections/services. Deploy staff based on their experience/expertise, to resolve urgent problems that may arise. Involve specialist or third parties when required.
- Monitor the performance of third-party engagements/assignments, and cross-check their invoices.
- Ensure that preventive maintenance programs are duly followed for all non-specialist equipment, sanitation facilities, architectural facilities, etc., based on supplier instructions and personal professional experience.
- Estimates costs for preventive maintenance and repairs, based on historic information.
- Monitor the use of energy and develop energy savings proposals, as well as investment proposals.
- Ensure fire safety regulations are strictly followed in conjunction with the Chief Security.
- Develop a relationship with the GNFS and EPA, to support effective implementation of regulations.
- Ensure periodical testing of fire safety equipment and fire drills in coordination with Chief Security and General Manager.
- Any other duties as may be required from time to time.
Qualification, Experience and Abilities
· A Degree or Higher National Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical or Civil engineering preferred.
· Minimum of 5 years maintenance experience and 3 years of managerial experience in a hotel or hospitality industry.
· Advanced knowledge of building management/engineering with positive attitude to work.
· Good communication skills and Commitment to delivering a high level of customer service.
· Good time management and people development skills.
· Ability to undertake multiple tasks and withstand work related pressure.
